And here’s me thinking that Beaujolais was just a wine…
OMG…did I say, just a wine…friends and connoisseurs, I sincerely apologize!!!
Beausoleil is soooo much more. At its best, like the wine, it’s simple, fresh, fun and joy-filled…mmmmm…!
It’s the largest of the Georgian Bay Islands National Parks, and one of fifty nine islands in southern Georgian Bay. Windswept pines and granite shores make for a beautiful piece of the Canadian Shield, and it’s only accessible by water.
A little adventure can definitely happen here…you can cycle the wooded trails, tent out at secluded campsites, or anchor out in one of the secluded bays. That’s what we did…just before we decided to hike the trail through the dense deciduous forest, to take in the breathtaking views out over the islands! Lots of places to stop for a scenic picnic or to take a dip.
I can see how this landscape inspired the Group of Seven!

I spent a week at a camp on Beausoleil Island a few years ago. Loved it! Thanks for bringing back great memories.
